TeamOne came from behind to beat Isurus Gaming in a thrilling three-map series in the grand final of the WESG South America Finals. Featuring just five teams, all determined by national or regional qualifiers, the South American Finals began with a best-of-one round-robin stage, which determined rEAK as the first side to be eliminated after losing all four matches. There were no surprises in the semi-final stage as the two heavy favourites going into the tournament, Isurus and TeamOne, ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over Elite Wolves and Vault, respectively, to book spots at the main WESG event. With both teams already through, the grand final was played for bragging rights and a bigger chunk of the tournament's $37,500 prize pool. Isurus took the lead in the series with a convincing 16-11 Inferno, but then they could not deal the finishing blow, wasting a 14-10 lead on Train and a 13-8 advantage on Cobblestone as the Brazilians ran out 2-1 victors thanks to great showings from Alencar "trk" Rossato and Pedro "Maluk3" Campos on the final two maps.
